đźš«DIVINATION: Astrological and zodiac signs, psychics, etc.
Divination is a practice that seeks to foresee or foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge by aid of demonic powers. This means there is communication with evil spirits for the purpose of acquiring knowledge and things.
While there’s nothing wrong with wanting to know about your future, we should not be consulting with psychics, horoscopes, ouija boards, the zodiac, tarot cards, crystal balls, crystals, etc. to get information concerning future events. We should only be consulting God. After all, He is the one that created us. I have heard people try to mix the zodiac with Christianity and I call tell you that this is not of God.
Deuteronomy 18:10-14
10 There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering,[a] anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer 11 or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, 12 for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you. 13 You shall be blameless before the Lord your God, 14 for these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to fortune-tellers and to diviners. But as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do this.
Isaiah 47:13
- 13 All the counsel you have received has only worn you out!
Let your astrologers come forward,
those stargazers who make predictions month by month,
let them save you from what is coming upon you.
This is a demonstration of God’s disapproval of these practices, but we see in
Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
One of the many reasons Saul was demoted from being King was because he consulted with a medium.
Let’s also look at Jeremiah 14:14
14 Then the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
We also see divination as a sin in Acts 16:16-18
16 As we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination and brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling. 17 She followed Paul and us, crying out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation.” 18 And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And it came out that very hour.
Paul identified this spirit as demonic. We should realize that people who work as fortune tellers and psychics are getting their “information” from evil spirits and demons. Some people refer to them as monitoring spirits.
Monitoring spirits are spirits that are sent to “monitor” your activities for the purpose of sabotage, gathering information and inflicting diseases, stealing your blessings and harm. That’s why the psychics and mediums are able to give some accurate information, because their demonic sources i.e. monitoring/masquerading spirits have studied you and in some cases your family blood line for generations.
The more we consult with psychics, horoscopes, zodiac signs, etc., the more we open our selves up to demonic spirits that want to attach themselves to every part of our life. This is one of the many dangers in delving into the demonic spiritual realm.
Remember that we should consult with God regarding our past, current and future. He wants to help you without any strings attached. Any time you consult with the devil and his things, there will ALWAYS be string attached!
Proverbs 10:22

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
