Promotion that comes from God

By: Katim Brown

THE PROCESS

Promotion will involve what I like to call a “Process”. Process as described by Webster Dictionary, is a natural phenomenon marked by gradual changes that lead toward a particular result. We find that every great leader endured a “process”, and that process was necessary for success and promotion. Psalms 75:6 and verse 7 states that “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another. There are many great examples in the bible of great leaders who were promoted after their process. There are 3 things that we want to consider as it relates to Promotion:

Preparation

Perhaps you have heard of the quote by Henry Hartman that says “Success always comes when preparation meets opportunity.” Preparation is a part of our process journey. A lot of the negative experiences that we can recount, if we think about it really helped us in our future endeavors and gave us the thick skin to endure. Even though it may have been painful, we are thankful for Romans 8:28 that states that all things work together for the good of them that love The Lord and are called according to His purpose. 2 Timothy 2:15 tells us to study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Next we want to….

Work as unto The Lord

Colossians 3:23-24 states that whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. We receive an inheritance from The Lord when we work this way. When we take this perspective and point of view, this will often improve our approach to working every day.

In working for The Lord we also want to remember to humble ourselves before The Lord and He will promote you. Proverbs 22:4 tells us that humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life! Matthew 25:23 says that “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!

Enjoy the process

Galatians 6:9: And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. God ultimately knows our beginning and end. The bibles says: For He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. When we feel depleted, that’s when we need to pray and sing songs of praise to God!
