DREAMS-What to watch out for…
Dreams can tell us plenty about our present, current, and even future situations. Sometimes we have dreams, and we don’t always understand what they mean. This is when we need to pray and ask God to reveal to us the meaning. Let’s look at Daniel 1:17: As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
Acts 2:17 “’In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams;
Genesis 40:8 “We both had dreams,” they answered, “but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.”
I want to specifically talk about dreams that we should pay attention to:
Eating in the dream
If you see yourself eating in your dreams, this is not a good thing. Sometimes we think maybe we were just hungry before sleeping. Quite often, the food will be simple high carbohydrate foods or foods that would be considered unhealthy. So, if you recall a time that you were eating in the dream try to remember what type of food it was. What this can be is a way for the devil to poison you with sickness, trouble, and misfortune. This is evil food. You want to reject any offer of food in your dreams. Therefore, it is important to pray before you go to bed and pray intentionally asking God to help you not to have dreams about eating.
Animals in the dream
If you are dreaming about snakes, reptiles, cats, dragons, sea creatures and other animals this can indicate an attack on you spiritually. Also, think about how your emotions in your dreams in general. Were you afraid? Were you happy? Again, you want to immediately pray before going back to sleep.
Dreaming about being in water
If you have had dreams about being in the water, pay attention to whether the water was clear or murky and dirty. Clean water can indicate something positive, provided you felt happy and were not drowning. Dirty, murky water can indicate a spiritual attack or something negative. This is especially true if you were drowning or having difficulty in the water.
Dreaming about talking to people that are deceased
This is a common one and some may disagree. Sometimes people will say they have dreamt about talking to a relative or someone familiar that is deceased. They will say that their loved one was giving them advice. While this can sound good, sometimes again it is an attack of the enemy to deceive or tempt you to do something by using the image of someone you love and admire. Again, always pray and ask God for discernment.
Having sex in the dreams
This is another common dream that people have that is dangerous. When this happens, this is a clear indication of demonic attack and activity. Typically, when a person is having sex in the dream it is actually a spiritual husband or wife. Spiritual spouses are demonic. Their agenda is to destroy and prevent marriages, cause trouble conceiving and or reproductive issues and even can cause illnesses. This is not to say that all the things previously mentioned are only related to spiritual spouses, but they can be blamed to a large extent.
As far as its origins, the spirits could have been in the family line or an open door of sin such as fornication or adultery has given them access. When fornication and/ or adultery is in the picture, there is commonly a negative soul tie or ties that have been created. Yes, sin (even as Christians) can open us up to different evil attacks and spirits. For this we pray to God and ask Him to show us our heart and reveal to us anything that may have opened a door to having these dreams.
Remember, prayer is the key. There are prayers online that you can look up that specifically address these types of dreams. There are even prayer points that you can print out and use during your prayer time. Remember the prayers of the righteous availeth much!
